Studying radical organizational innovation through grounded theory
2000
The main aim of this article is to study the social processes occurring during the implementation of radical organizational innovation. Our aim is to understand the nature of the development of radical innovation by identifying the social processes, that are taking place. The perspective for the analysis stems from grounded theory as a generative and inductive analytical strategy (Glaser & Strauss, 1967). An in-depth case study was thoroughly analysed. A total of 14 indepth interviews were conducted with key informants selected according to theoretical sampling criteria. The systematic use of the constant comparative method allowed us to differentiate grounded theories leading to a c…

2012
Tutkimuksessa kartoitetaan Petäjäveden Vanhalle kirkolle annettuja merkityksiä ja selvitetään, millaiseksi kirkko koetaan. Liittyvätkö merkitykset arkkitehtuuriin, uskontoon, pyhyyteen, henkilökohtaisiin kokemuksiin tai muihin kirkkoon yhdistettyihin asioihin? Pääasiallinen aineisto muodostuu Petäjäveden Vanhan kirkon säätiön järjestämän kirjoituskilpailun teksteistä, joita on analysoitu grounded theory -menetelmällä. Tutkimuksessa kirjoitukset on jaettu sisältöjensä perusteella kolmeen luokkaan: 1) Elävä kirkko, 2) Minun kirkkoni ja 3) Jännittävä kirkko. 2021
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was declared a pandemic by the WHO on March 11, 2020, due to its high infection rate, which caused thousands of deaths worldwide and expanding. The evolving outbreak of COVID-19 requires health-protective behavior that can alleviate the severity of an epidemic. Therefore, recognizing the underlying drivers of health-protective behavior against COVID-19 is urgently needed to form policy responses. The purpose of this study was to investigate the individual-level underlying drivers affecting the formation of knowledge, attitudes, and COVID-19-related health-protective behavior among individuals aged 50 and older who are more vulnerable to complications …
Human-Animal Relationships in Supported Housing: Animal Atmospheres for Mental Health Recovery
2021
Being in a relationship with an animal can promote the well-being of people. For many individuals, this usually takes place at home. This study reports about homes for people with mental health problems (with or without co-occurring substance use), who live in supported housing operated by public landlords, entailing tenancies that are usually stricter regarding their pet policies than ordinary homes. We thus addressed the following research questions through ethnographic fieldwork at seven distinct places: which types of human–animal relationships occur in supported housing, and how do they affect the tenants? We analyzed the collected data informed by the Grounded Theory approach and foun…
